Married at First Sight Australia 2024 intruder Ridge Barredo is touted to be this season’s Al Perkins and sounds like his wife has her work cut out for her!
The 27-year-old is a Sydney-based professional weightlifter and is certainly no stranger to the spotlight, having competed at the Commonwealth Games in 2018 and in 2022, where he finished in fifth place.
MAFS also isn’t Ridge’s first appearance on reality TV; he appeared on Channel Seven’s First Dates in 2020, during which he described himself as “not vanilla”. And no, we aren’t talking about ice cream flavours here…

With the athlete marrying Jade Pywell on TV, one participant said their union was weird considering “Ridge is a full-on Al Perkins“.
“He’s a rowdy, immature f*ckboy,” they said, as revealed in episode 353 of the So Dramatic! podcast. “He would say stupid stuff all the time.
“Like the worst things, misogynistic comments and stuff like that.”
They added that just like Al, who appeared on Married at First Sight 2022, Ridge “still lives at home with his mum”.
“Jade has an eight-year-old kid. She had her when she was 19. So it was weird pairing a really immature guy with a mature girl who has her sh*t together,” they added.

Cementing Ridge as a member of the illustrious reality TV pyramid scheme is his friendship with The Bachelorette 2020‘s Nick Chamberlain.
Despite their close friendship, Nick told So Dramatic! he was unable to attend Ridge’s wedding due to him being cast “last minute”.
“He got basically no notice and was only allowed three mates at the wedding, and the rest [was] family, so I couldn’t go,” he explained.
“I’m nervous for him and how he will go on there. He’s a good guy, but can’t shut up sometimes.” LOL.

Ridge’s Instagram reveals that while he offers some sort of online coaching, he actually works full-time as a psychiatric nurse.
Meanwhile, his official MAFS bio reveals that while he may have a playboy persona, the groom is keen to commit to the right woman.
He says his parents’ loving marriage is what dreams are made of. However, he hasn’t been ready for a serious relationship until now.
While Ridge has “strong morals” and is “loyal to a fault”, he is also “loud, vain and cocky”. And Lord, help us…
As for the type of woman this fella is into, his bio details those with “tidy rigs” are top tier, as well as gals who don’t take themselves too seriously.
