Australian Survivor‘s long-time host Jonathan LaPaglia has spilled the tea on the “unlikely” alliances that form in the upcoming 2024 season.
ICYMI: The hit survival series is returning to Ten on January 29 for its NINTH season with an all-new theme of Titans V Rebels.
Since the network dropped the cast list on January 22, we’ve been dying to see how the Survivors play the game.
Luckily, all buffs were off when Jonathan spoke to TV Tonight, dishing who we can expect to team up when the series transports us back to Samoa.
“We have some really fun relationships that develop this season,” the 54-year-old said. “Feras and Raymond are these really unlikely bedfellows.
“They come from completely different worlds, completely different personalities, but they quickly developed this friendship. They’re they’re so fun to watch.”
Jonathan, who has hosted the show since its revival in 2016, also said age diversity plays a role in the camps.
“Caroline and Mark are a bit older, they’re kind of the voice of reason. Alex and Kelly are the ultimate frenemies and it’s hilarious watching those two.”

The Australian Survivor host also confessed he was surprised one contestant wasn’t cast in an earlier season of the competition, having auditioned for years on end.
“Eden is like a nerdy super fan. He revealed to me that he’s been trying to get on the show since Season One and he’s so good, I just can’t understand why he wasn’t brought on before that,” Jonathan told the outlet.
“I was kind of baffled by that. But he’s really great.”
On top of this, Jonathan pointed fans in the direction of several powerful castaways in Titans V Rebels.
“Valeria is hilarious. She’s this Russian model with a silver tongue. Viola is a competitive powerlifter but she ends up being pretty savvy when it comes to the game,” he confessed.
“Jaden might be Australia’s strongest man, but he is hilarious,” he added.
