Love Island Australia 2023‘s Chloe Jackson and Reid Polak have confirmed they split after being dumped from the villa. However, the differing reasons behind their breakup don’t seem to be adding up.
ICYMI: The Islanders were eliminated from the villa during the December 14 episode after being voted least likely to still be together in a year by the Superfans.
Now, that prediction doesn’t come as a surprise one bit, nor does news they’re already dunzo.
After all, Reid recently teased his single status at the 2023 ARIA Awards and Chloe’s mum, My Mum Your Dad 2022‘s Michelle Jackson, said her daughter had “no time for love” in her new career in the Australian Navy.
So, what have the doomed Islanders spilled about their relationship?
After their dumping aired, Reid said he could “confirm [they’re] not together”.
“It was more my decision but [Chloe] could accept that and she respects my decision,” the 26-year-old told 9Entertainment.
However, Chloe had a different version of events.
“Reid and myself didn’t really speak about anything, we just walked away,” she said.

Elaborating on their split, Chloe confessed the pair “had different motives” as to why they appeared on Love Island.
“I joined the military [after the show] so I focused on that, and his focus was his modelling and acting,” she explained.
“Reid and myself are civil, we speak occasionally but we are just friends. I literally have no time to talk him or see him as we live in different states and I went straight on to my new career.”
According to Reid, Chloe’s new stint as a physical training instructor was “one factor” for their split.
“We just sort of drifted apart, and she was starting her job in the military and I don’t really want to be involved with someone that is constantly going to be away,” he said.
Confirmation of Chloe and Reid’s split comes after an insider told So Dramatic! that Reid admitted to “faking it” with his villa bae to get further in the competition.
