Real Housewives of Sydney’s Caroline Gaultier has shared an update about her mother’s cancer diagnosis.
The reality star found out about the heartbreaking news whilst filming. And during her appearance on Joel Creasey‘s official RHOS podcast, she revealed she had a choice about whether she wanted the moment to air.
“It was 100 per cent my choice. So I spoke to my Mum and she said, ‘Listen, I was born in showbusiness, I will die in showbusiness’,” the socialite recalled.
Caroline’s mum was a famous actress and journalist in Prague. As a woman in her 70s, she feels like she’s lived a full life and has requested to spend her final years without undergoing any treatment.
Whilst honouring her mother’s wishes, Caroline still struggles with the thought of her passing.
“Sometimes I’m OK to talk about it,” she explained. “It comes in waves.
“I wasn’t OK for two years after my dog passed, so I really don’t know how it’s going to go down. It’s a whole new experience for me. I’m trying.”

Later on, she called out her co-stars for holding onto petty drama.
“Who’s got the time? Say what you need to say, hear the other person’s perspective, have a little think, and then say sorry or make up and let’s move on,” she remarked.
“I think we have a little bit of an issue with moving on.”
She added: “Their problems are cute. They’re not heartbreaking scenarios they’re fighting over: ‘Are you my real friend? Are you not my real friend? I can’t believe you said this to me,’” she said mockingly.
“It’s cute. It’s not really that [bad]. No one’s dead … it’s a level I can tolerate.”
