Fans of The Block are convinced the show used a green screen and CGI’d host Scott Cam in a recent episode.
During the October 3 instalment of the hit renovation show, Scott took tied Room Reveal winners Kristy and Brett Beams and Eliza and Liberty Paschke to Camelot, the house he renovated in Gisborne during The Block 2022.
However, some eagle-eyed viewers took to Reddit to share an inkling that “Scotty was not really at the house”.
“I swear when he was talking, it was a green screen behind him,” they wrote. “Then when he was walking down the hall that was 100 [per cent] not him.”
Another Redditor said that she and her boyfriend “thought that as well”.

Sharing the thread in the So Dramatic! Communi-TEA Facebook group, one fan agreed and said, “Scott was TOTALLY green-screened in”.
“I thought the background behind him looked weird!” another user said.
A third wrote: “Literally texted my mum and said ‘Scotty is in front of a green screen, I don’t think he’s there having dinner with them’.
“You’d think with the amount of editing this show gets, they’d do better than this debacle.”
However, one viewer wasn’t so sure.
“I don’t understand why, he was definitely there when they were playing Jenga,” they said. And we agree!
Our theory is that the lighting is just a smidge off, making it look like Scotty was in front of a green screen, because when the camera pans to Eliza and Liberty, he can be seen at the side of the frame.
But with the magic of reality TV, who really knows?!
