Channel 7 has refused to comment on the future of one of its series after a woman featured was charged with multiple counts of indecent treatment of children.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is facing a number of charges involving offences she allegedly committed in multiple locations in Queensland.

The charges include multiple counts of indecent treatment of children aged under 16, multiple counts of rape, sexual assault, torture and assaults.

One of the indecent treatment charges has been listed as “indecent film”. Meanwhile, her partner has also been charged with a number of assaults.

Queensland police allege the offences occurred between 2005 and 2020.

Per The Courier Mail, Channel 7 was approached for comment on August 31 regarding the allegations against the woman and her partner.

The network did not respond. However, 7News aired details about the allegations without mentioning that the woman in question had been featured on the network.

The outlet attempted to contact Channel 7 again on September 1 to ask if the television series would air and whether it would be altered. The Courier Mail also questioned how long the network knew about the allegations.

Lawyers for Channel 7 only responded with letters explaining Queensland laws.

The woman was recently released on bail on the condition she must live at a specific address and not contact specific individuals.

She is set to face Richlands Magistrates Court in October.
