The Bachelor 2019‘s Matt Agnew and Australian Survivor: Blood v Water 2022‘s Khanh Ong have addressed growing speculation they’re dating.
Over the years, the pair have formed an extremely close relationship, leading many fans to conclude things between them are romantic.
However, speaking on Khan’s Feast podcast on February 26, the pair explained the nature of their relationship and said it’s purely platonic.
“It’s the lack of affection straight men show other men that people assume there must be something sexual there,” the astrophysicist stated.
Matt also highlighted that men should be more “affectionate” and “tactile” with their friends.
“Everyone should be comfortable enough in their sexuality that they don’t feel uncomfortable showing affection, men or women,” he said.
“There’s that random line in the sand – nah blokes can’t show affection – which is stupid.”

The former Bachelor explained that the pair cuddle each other from time to time, as they’re both single and in need of affection and companionship.
“Humans are very social creatures,” the 35-year-old shared. “Cuddles and embraces, that releases dopamine and makes you feel good.” And we couldn’t agree more! Nothing beats a good hug from a friend.
He continued: “For everyone, women and men, cuddling is important. That physical comfort and being able to feel safe. It’s something inherently human.”
Matt also revealed that they’ll often call each other and say, “let’s have a movie night and have a cuddle” because it makes them “feel better”.
“We usually do it on Tuesdays!” Khanh exclaimed.
The celebrity chef then shared that he was feeling “fragile” last Monday, causing them to have two date nights that week.
“We were friends and it got to a point where we were like, ‘Do you just want to come on the couch and watch a movie and sit and hold hands?'” the former Masterchef Australia contestant explained.
Khanh said he was missing “the companionship” that he felt when he was in a relationship.
“The sex was easy, but the company was the hard thing to find so it kind of just worked,” the 30-year-old admitted.

Romance rumours recently began circulating after Matt and Khanh – who’ve been besties for a while – went on a holiday to Vietnam together.
Snaps shared on Instagram in January showed them looking cosy during a boat ride.
However, they revealed the cosiness between them is just a result of their close friendship.
The former reality stars have also been pictured on lots of foodie adventures together, and they even appeared to share a kiss at a charity event last July. #FriendshipGoals
