SAS Australia 2023 is set to be hugely controversial, with reports that politician Pauline Hanson has signed on to do the show.

The series is no stranger to having controversial cast members on the show, with previous seasons showcasing convicted drug dealers Schapelle Corby and Richard Buttrose, former footballer Wayne Carey and NRL player Sam Burgess — both of whom have had domestic abuse allegations against them.

Now, the Daily Mail reports that the 68-year-old One Nation Party leader has signed on to appear in the next season.

According to the outlet, Pauline has been approached for past seasons, however, has only agreed now to “challenge herself”.

A Seven spy also told the publication that producers “couldn’t be more thrilled”, and have they actually met her?!

“The new season will be filmed in the Middle East, so it will definitely take Pauline out of her comfort zone,” they dished.

When Daily Mail reached out for comment, Channel 7 declined to respond.

What Other Reality TV Shows Has Pauline Hanson Been On?

While Pauline’s political career has been filled with contention — including being accused of plagiarising several of her party’s policies from anti-Islamic and far-right political websites in 2016 — she has also had a less-than-celebrated career on television.

The politician has been on Dancing With the Stars, Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, This Is Your Life and Celebrity Apprentice.

Other names linked to SAS Australia 2023 are Ben Cousins and footballer Dani Laidley; however, casting is still ongoing.
