Love Island Australia 2022’s Jordan Dowsett is a fun-loving, mullet-wearing larrikin who was in an eight-year relationship before entering the villa.

The 25-year-old islander, who hails from the Gold Coast, met his former girlfriend when they were just 14 years old before calling it quits when he was 23.

“She was my high school sweetheart,” he told 9Now. “We dated ever since high school. There was a bit of pressure from everyone to stay together. It was massive for us to break up. It was a heartbreak I never want to do again. At the end of the day, it was the best thing for me.”

Jordan Dowsett “Found Himself” After His Relationship Ended

According to the newly minted reality star, he “lost” himself during the relationship because “it was like we were the same person”.

“As soon as I got out of a relationship, I found myself again. I found I became the best version of myself, and I feel like I’m ready to share that with someone now.

He continued: “You start to lose touch with your mates because you are always doing stuff with your partner. I had no drive with my sporting stuff. As soon as it ended, I started seeing my mates, playing sports, and getting back on track. I was 23 when we broke up. I’m 25 now.”

The sport he is referring to is AFL, in which Jordan is a super-talented player. And while he is now focusing on his Love Island Australia 2022 adventure, he has his sights set on a QLD team.

Jordan Dowsett’s Mullet Is Record-Breaking

One quirk of this fun-loving islander is his hairstyle and even though it’s quite polarising (to say the least) according to the sparky, it’s not going anywhere!

In fact, it’s the first mullet we’ve seen in the Aussie villa in four seasons!

Originally from a small town called Langford in Victoria, the FIFO electrician now calls the Sunshine state his home after wanting to “explore life”. And frankly, what better place for a young stallion in his early twenties, eh?!

“I saw [the] potential for myself in moving to the Gold Coast from career to personal growth,” he told the outlet. “I love the sun and the water. It’s the best. I love it. The Gold Coast is the perfect spot.”
