Love Island Australia 2022’s Austen Bugeja is what you would typically call a “tall, dark, and handsome”; however, there’s more to him than meets the eye!
The 22-year-old spray painter is of Chilean and Maltese descent, hence his gorge olive skin and striking eyes.
And while we’re not expecting him to find the love of his life in the villa, we are barracking for him to stay on the show for as looooong as possible.
On top of his gorgeous looks and cheeky AF personality, Austen is a “proud mummy’s boy”, and ladies, contrary to what you may have heard, this is always a green flag!
“I love my Mum. I love everything about her,” he told 9Now. “I feel proud that I am her son. Ever since we were little she has taught me good morals.
“She has taught me not to leave the house without wearing aftershave. I would get grounded without wearing aftershave. I can never leave the house looking like a slob, and I can thank my Mum for that.” Awwww!!
What Else Do We Know About Love Island Australia 2022’s Austen Bugeja?
According to his official bio, Austen is extremely popular with the ladies and has no trouble picking up (duh!) however, it appears he’s still searching for “the one”.
“I am ready to start settling down,” he told the outlet after being asked why he applied for the show. “I love meeting new people. That’s basically it. I am just ready.”
The young islander is also a semi-pro soccer player and plays for the Western Condors in Smithfield (i.e. the home of Socceroos great Harry Kewell).
“I think I started playing when I was twelve, but before then basketball was my sport. I was fairly good at that too, I represented the Penrith Panthers. I am very sporty and like watching a lot of sport too.”
TBF, we think watching him WILL be a sport…OMG! We have sooo much in common!
