Australian Survivor’s Sophie Cachia has revealed she is “sick to death” of people “needing to be there” for her after her shock split from basketballer Maddie Garrick.
On October 27, just a few days after the reality star announced the news, she took to Instagram to give fans an update.
“A lot of lessons, but mostly blessed I am with such a supportive, close-knit family & friend support system [sic],” she wrote. “I’m at a point in my life where I’m SICK TO DEATH of people needing to be there for me.”
She continued: “‘We’re here for you’ they say, and I’m angry. Not for their want to help me, but for yet another reason I need them to. It’s humiliating. It’s embarrassing. I didn’t ask for this.”
Sophie then went on to say that she didn’t want to be “here”, referring to at home in Melbourne.
“2 weeks ago I was travelling the world, the happiest I’ve felt in my life for so many years [sic],” she said. “I was oblivious. I just want happiness and a content life.”
“I don’t want to fear love & commitment, I don’t want to not believe in anyone ever again or have trust issues.
“I don’t want to be petrified to let anyone near my children again. I want happiness. [sic]”
The heartfelt post was accompanied by a drawing made by her five-year-old daughter, Florence.
Sophie Cachia Announces Split from Maddie Garrick
On October 23, the influencer shared a post on her Instagram about her break-up, asking her fans to “let her be”.
The couple, who became engaged seven months ago, had just begun a long-distance relationship after Maddie moved to Florence, Italy, for a work opportunity with Polisportiva A.Galli Basket.
“It is with sadness and a great deal of pain that I have unfortunately made the decision to end my relationship,” Sophie said.
“Despite the great deal of love I still hold, I have made this decision to lead by example for what I know I deserve in life for myself and for my children — because we are all worthy.”
The mum-fluencer then said, “while I am hurting, life must go on”.
“I still have to show up for work with my businesses and most importantly be a mum and role model to my two children.”
On Mardi Gras weekend in March 2022, Sophie proposed to her then-girlfriend, with Maddie captioning her reveal, “It was always you”.
