The man who allegedly stabbed Bachelor In Paradise star Paddy Colliar is set to fight the charges laid against him.

On October 14, Abdul Kadws Mohammed Amin, 24, pleaded not guilty to the aggravated charge of causing harm with intent after fronting up at the Adelaide District Court.

The alleged incident — which occurred in August 2021 — saw Colliar taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where he presented with stab wounds to the back.

According to News.com.au, Amin was arrested after being involved in an argument with a woman at a 60th birthday party at Pole-4-Fitness.

The reality star, who was working as a topless waiter at the time, then intervened and was reportedly stabbed with a knife.

When Amin fronted court this month, he appeared before Judge Joana Fuller alongside lawyer Kate Budzynski, and a trial date was set for November 2023.

Speaking to 7NEWS after the alleged incident in 2021, Colliar said he “kind of jumped in”.

“I kind of jumped in and said, ‘listen, that’s no way to talk to a woman’,” he told the outlet. “And I looked down, and there was just an actual fountain, just started pouring out.”

The Bachelorette star —who appeared in Ali Oetjen‘s season — was then alerted by a witness that he’d been stabbed.

“Oh my god, Paddy, you’ve been stabbed,” they said.

“Next minute, I was in a pool of blood,” he revealed. “I felt like, in the moment, it was the right thing to do.”

“I don’t regret it at all. Violence against women is a big no.”

Amin reportedly fled the scene but was arrested a short time later and was charged with aggravated assault.
