It turns out Love Island Australia 2022 has ALREADY wrapped filming, and with this news, you’d be forgiven for questioning how TF we are meant to meddle in the Islanders’ experience and choose a winner.

As we know by way of a SEXY AF promo starring iconic host Sophie Monk and Dancing with the Stars’ alum Julian Caillon, the series will premiere in October… sometime.

In early September, So Dramatic! revealed that the new season had already begun filming in Mallorca, Spain, with the surprise addition of Married at First Sight Australia 2022‘s Al Perkins joining the cast.

Then, ITV Studios, the production company behind Love Island, told us that they had “assembled an amazing” cast in what is “set to be a hot and sizzling season”, with all to be “revealed soon!”

So, now that it has been pre-filmed, how can we be involved?!

How Will a Winner Be Decided on Love Island Australia 2022?

According to Yahoo Lifestyle, a production insider has revealed how a winner will be decided, and it’s an editing trick as old as time!

Apparently, three alternate endings have already been filmed.

“Nobody has any idea who will win the cash prize as producers had all the finalists film a version where they win,” the source told the outlet.

A production insider has revealed that three alternate endings for Love Island Australia 2022 have been filmed. Nine.

“The contestants won’t find out if they’ve won or not until they actually sit down to watch the finale with the rest of Australia and see if their winning scene is played.”

Three finale outcomes are a great way to “prevent spoilers” and to “allow the fans to have some say in the show and vote for their winner”.

Of course, viewers will not take kindly to the changes, just like when Big Brother Australia changed to pre-records and The Voice Australia 2022 finale aired after filming alternate endings.

Live voting is a massive drawcard for many TV lovers and has been a big part of reality TV for a long time.

Here’s hoping it doesn’t affect how we indulge in Love Island Australia!
