The Block Australia 2022 may not have been “on brand” for Elle Ferguson and Joel Patfull, however, there was another reason for their very dramatic exit — Kim Kardashian.

Back in June, sources revealed exclusively to So Dramatic! that hi-vis workwear, scratchy toilet paper and overall “site conditions” were some of the reasons the influencer couple decided to leave.

But now — and as reported in episode 211 of the So Dramatic! podcast — it turns out that contractual issues between Elle and the infamous reality star’s company SKIMS may have been the biggest motivation for their departure yet!

“The stuff you reported about the work conditions and it not being on brand for Elle and Joel was true,” a source dished to So Dramatic!. “But there was also some contract issues.”

“Producers didn’t allow contestants to be on social media during the season,” the source said.

“They were not allowed to do any sponsorships without prior written approval.”

During filming, Elle got an insanely cool deal with Kimmy K’s shapewear brand. However, when she asked for permission to be able to post about it, “production said no”.

“She ended up choosing the SKIMS deal over The Block,” the insider dished.

Elle Ferguson Didn’t Want to Lose Work Opportunities By Being on The Block 2022

The So Dramatic! source also confirmed that Elle didn’t want to “lose work opportunities for such a long period”, given that it’s her main source of income.

“It wasn’t worth it because she makes great money outside the show already, and The Block prize money isn’t guaranteed,” they added.

“She thought they would allow her to continue doing her social media stuff, but it was clear from the start they were just not going to approve anything.”

Elle has since told people that she is “mortified” by how she has been portrayed by the media. Particularly, how host Scott Cam dragged them through the mud and the way producers “treated them” for ratings.
