Beauty and the Geek Australia 2022’s Jayden Darcy is a real-life martial arts expert. But even though he has a black belt in the sport, he’s a lover, not a fighter.
According to his official bio, Jayden has been training since school after having to deal with bullies, and finds that it helps with his confidence.
While martial arts is his passion, the “confident and intense” geek is a self-described “bookworm” who loves all sorts of reading. From fantasy novels to books about mathematics, he has different groups of friends who share these similar curiosities.
“I like the idea of meeting people who are geeky like me and have their own interests,” he told 9Now.
“But we all are here for the same reason. I want to have those personal friends I can call up for advice when something bad happens or if I’m upset.”
An absolute sweetheart, Jayden has also got game!
“Do you know how much a penguin weighs?” he asks.
“Enough to break the ice! How are you? I’m Jayden!”

Jayden is also a bartender and a tutor and according to him, he’s a bit of a “workaholic”.
As for why he applied for Beauty and the Geek? He’s most excited about the makeover! Us too, Jayden. Us too.
“To be honest, I don’t know if I can make myself look good. It’ll be interesting, to say the least. I’m hoping to look good. I’m not looking at Ryan Reynolds level of good, just better!” Ha!
