There are still a number of weeks away before we get to see the MasterChef Australia 2022 finale, however, in terms of filming, they are at the pointy end of the competition — i.e. down to the final three.
Back in May, sneaky pap shots revealed that Julie Goodwin, Alvin Quah and Daniel Lamble had made the top billing, however, it turned out that the show was still filming and the intel was not correct.
And now, as reported in episode 194 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the REAL contenders have been unveiled!

According to a well-placed insider, MasterChef Australia is currently filming the last few episodes of the season and they have some very interesting updates to share.
“Julie gets eliminated before reaching the top three,” they dished (wut?!), before revealing that Daniel, Billie McKay and Sarah Todd had made it to the final trio.
“Producers are pushing for Billie to get into the finale as allegedly Heston Blumenthal is coming back for the finale and the producers want Billie and Heston to have a reunion,” they insider continued.
“There’s a chance that Daniel will likely win as the producers are allegedly favouring for a fan to win the season!”
Personally, we LOVE BFG/firefighter Daniel, and so we’re not mad about it!
Who Were Initially Reported to Be In the Top Three?
In May, Julie, Alvin and Daniel were incorrectly reported to have been in the MasterChef top three, however, it turns out that one of these cooks didn’t even make it to the final six.
As reported in episode 189 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the same well-placed insider got in touch to reveal that they “only filmed the final six last week and haven’t even gotten to the final three just yet”.
“When the article came out, they still had seven contestants in production,” the insider dished.
According to our So Dramatic! spy, production for the final few episodes will likely begin in early June.
“Alvin doesn’t make it to the top three however, there’s a chance that Julie and Daniel will as they are definitely part of the top five.”
Who Has Been Eliminated from MasterChef Australia 2022 So Far?
At the time of publication, some very strong contenders have already left the competition including Minoli De Silva, Melissa Persson, 2018 winner Sashi Cheliah, Jenn Lee and Christina Batista.
