There’s an unusual history behind Selling Sunset‘s Chrishell Stause’s unique first name and you have to hear the story to believe it.
In fact, Chrishell’s name was actually created by her own mum (who sadly passed away in 2020), who was inspired by her daughter’s birth location and the person who helped her when she went into labour.
Even though she was actually named Terrina Chrishell Stause at birth, as we know, the reality star goes by just Chrishell and this is where the story is.
According to Express UK. when her mother went into labour, she was at a Shell petrol station and happened to receive help from the store attendant, whose name was Chris.
Thus, the name was born (pun intended)! Get it? Chri-Shell!
The Real Reason Selling Sunset Chrishell’s Name Has Gone Viral On TikTok
The bizarre story re-emerged after TikTok star Grace Barry shared a hilarious video about the name.
“I was thinking, what a beautiful name! Is it Spanish? Italian,” Grace said in the video, going on to explain the meaning.
“God forbid this happened in England. Can you imagine? She’d be called John Tesco!”
Australia could have a couple of doozies too! Pete-Caltex, perhaps? Natho-Ampol? Dazza-Coles? The options are endless.
Speaking of which, Chrishell is currently on holiday in Australia. She’s been sharing happy snaps across the tourist trail in Sydney, from Taronga Zoo to the Bondi Icebergs.
At this rate, her first child with her partner — Australian musician Georgia Flipo (G-Flip) — might be called TimTam-Penrith or Davo-Woolies…
