Love Island Australia 2018 star Amelia Marni has accused a Jetstar employee of “sl*t shaming” her on a flight on Sunday.
The 25-year-old took to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, claiming that a male flight attendant had told her to “cover up” and that her outfit was “too revealing”.
“We love a sl*t shame moment,” she penned. “A male flight attendant just told me to cover up and my clothing was too revealing. I can’t wear this and it’s inappropriate to wear on Jetstar. NEVER heard of this.”
Amelia then shared a pic of the outfit she had worn for the flight, which was an inoffensive black crop top and a pair of cargo pants.
Jetstar’s Clothing Policy Does Not Reflect the Flight Attendant’s Views
The Love Island star then shared a screenshot of Jetstar’s clothing policy, which read: “Please refrain from wearing any clothing or carrying personal items that display words, images, symbols or slogans that may reasonably be deemed offensive.”
The influencer said this was “literally the only thing” that she could find regarding the company’s clothing,” joking “we love a man abusing his authority”.
Further, after Amelia posted her story an ex-Jetstar employee reached out to confirm that Jetstar “don’t give a f*ck what you wear”. Hence, it appears as though the flight attendant was relaying a personal opinion as opposed to a company policy.
Amelia later updated followers, explaining that she had asked another employee if her outfit was okay, to which they had replied that “it was fine”.
Wow. What a joke!
