Fan favourite MasterChef Australia alum, Justine Schofield, has a bun in the oven and frankly, this news is just delicious!

Taking to her Instagram on Sunday, the 2009 contestant — who placed fourth in her series — announced that she was expecting her first child with former AFL player Brent Staker.

“We’re having a bubba,” Justine penned the post, showing off her growing bump. “So excited, so grateful.” Awww!

Brent also shared the same pic, saying: “Very exciting times ahead…soon to be ‘all hands on deck’ welcoming our new bub 🥰.”

There Has Been an Outpouring of Love for Justine and Brent

Naturally, MasterChef stars took to the comments, thrilled by the news.

“Such incredible news my Jussy. Congrats @brentstaker_ – u guys gunna have the cutest dumpling 🥟 🤩🥳 [sic],” Poh Ling Yeow wrote.

While 2019 fave Simon Toohey said: “Yes mmmaaaaaatttteeee!!!!!” Love it!

MasterChef Australia judge Melissa Leong penned: “Yeeeaaaah! CONGRATULATIONS!!! ❤️”. Meanwhile, mum-of-one (and MC winner) Emelia Jackson wrote: “Woooooweeeeee congratulations ❤️”

Who Is Brent Staker, Justine Schofield’s Partner

Justine began dating Brent in March 2020,

Brent is is a former AFL player who played for the West Coast Eagles and Brisbane Lions.

In 2008, he was punched in the face by Sydney Swans player (and SAS Australia 2022 star) Barry Hall during a match, which saw Barry suspended for seven games.

Then, in August 2015, he announced his retirement from the AFL, however, was injured and had to withdraw early.

In August 2021, Justine spoke about the relationship during an appearance on former MasterChef judge Gary Mehigan’s A Plate to Call Home podcast, the chef revealed she was in a “loving relationship.”

“I’ve had two terrible break-ups throughout the ten years, and it all comes down to not being around because I’m always on the road,” she said at the time. “Now I’m in a loving relationship and I remind myself that I do need to say no to things sometimes.”
