Former Married at First Sight Australia bride Amanda Micallef has faced court over allegedly distributing “revenge porn” on her OnlyFans account.
In February, So Dramatic! broke the news that Amanda had been charged with distributing intimate photos and videos of an ex-partner on her OnlyFans account without her consent.
As previously reported, one source witnessed the 36-year-old front court on March 16.
“Amanda faced court on Wednesday and was supported… by a group of friends,” they reported. “She did not have a lawyer and sought Legal Aid representation.”
The So Dramatic! sleuth also said that Amanda asked for “more time to get legal advice” and accordingly, was granted bail at a price of $2,000.
The matter was adjourned until April 19, 2022, at which point a lawyer appeared in court to represent Amanda, who remained in Melbourne at the time.
The case was adjourned again until May 30, 2022, as reported in episode 180 of the So Dramatic! podcast.
Amanda faces up to three years of jail time if found guilty.
Amanda Celebrates With Friends
However, despite looking at multiple years in prison, the former TV star — who appeared on MAFS in 2020 — took to her Instagram Story following her court appearance in March, seemingly celebrating with the gals.
“Cheers to amazing friends,” she penned on the short video, which showed the group cheers-ing their glasses.
What Was Amanda Micallef Charged With Exactly?
The charge — which is commonly known as ‘revenge porn’ — sits under Section 223 of the Criminal Code Act, stating that it is “an offence to distribute intimate images of a person without the person’s permission in a way that could cause the person distress.”
According to the act, ‘intimate images’ is defined as “a moving or still image that depicts: a person engaged in a sexual act, the genital or anal region when is bare or covered only by underwear, the bare breasts of a female, and an image that has been altered to appear to show any of the above.”
While we do not know which images and videos Amanda has been charged with distributing, she has recently been sharing content on her OnlyFans account which were graphic and sexual in nature. The footage involved a number of people including an ex-partner.
Since it was on the closed platform, to gain access to the footage, you would need to pay for it, however, So Dramatic! has been told that the content has since been removed.
So Dramatic! understands that Amanda was charging upwards of $150 to gain access to each video behind the paywall.
