If there’s anything that a bride should not have to suffer through, it’s chicken twistie breath — as is the case for Married at First Sight Australia 2022 bride, Kate Laidlaw.
The intruder has already got MAFS fans talking (and giggling) after a trailer showed her groom Matt Ridley apologising for having bad breath at their wedding because he had just “had some chicken twisties”.
Kate has never been in a relationship before, so she has decided to marry a total stranger in a last-ditch effort to find the one.
We can only hope Kate is able to get over Matt’s twistie faux pas and give the experiment a real go. If all goes well, her first relationship could be her forever one!
Why is Kate Laidlaw Taking on Married at First Sight Australia?
Kate has struggled with love and romance her whole life.
The 38-year-old’s dating history has been tainted by rejection and put-downs which have left her feeling hopeless, unworthy and insecure.
Her Instagram bio adds that the bride is “Kind. Genuine. Sensitive.”
Oh dear, not another sensitive bride for MAFS producers to prey on…
For Kate, “the idea of marriage has only ever felt like an impossible fantasy.” Let’s hope her wedding is still a fairytale, despite the chicken twistie incident.
Usually, rather than take on the treacherous dating world, the hopeless romantic instead turns to romcoms for comfort (don’t we all?).
Her MAFS bio reveals that she “holes up watching romantic movies” with her “equally single twin sister.”
The fresh bride is terrified of being in the same, loveless situation in ten years time, so is taking on the experiment in hopes of finding “a man who shows her the affection she craves”.
We can only hope she finds that comfort in the arms of the man with chicken twistie breath.
What Else Do We Know About Kate Laidlaw?
The 2022 MAFS intruder may be unlucky in love, but she certainly doesn’t let it get in the way of her life (too much)!
Kate is a clinical nutritionist, so she’s smart, obvi, and runs a nutrition blog with her twin sister Bec.
She is also fit AF, with plenty of gym, hiking and yoga snaps peppered across her personal and blogging Instagram accounts.
We think it’s safe to say she and her twin are pretty much joined at the hip. Aside from running a kick-ass blog together, the pair are actually housemates.
We hope Bec approves of Mr. Twistie Man, and maybe we will see her on a future season of Married at First Sight Australia? Only time will tell!
