Married at First Sight Australia 2022 groom Jackson Lonie’s audition tape is proof that he and bride Oliva Frazer are the perfect match.

From the moment the pair locked eyes at the altar, the plumber was smitten with the Sydneysider and her huge smile.

Funnily enough, a good set of pearlers was high up on Jackson’s future-wife-wishlist.

“I’m a sucker for a smile and nice eyes,” the 31-year-old revealed in his MAFS audition tape, which is available on 9Now. He also hoped his bride would be “smaller than [him]”. However, this isn’t difficult when Jackson stands at six-foot-three!

The Melburnian admitted that a “headstrong” woman is a “massive thing” for him when it comes to a partner, too.

“I want somebody who’s driven, knows what they want in their life,” Jackson confessed. “Where they’re going and what they want to achieve and stuff like that.”

While Confessions Week saw a snippet of Jackson discussing his rough upbringing, his audition tape further solidified his protective nature.

“A big thing for me is violence with women and stuff like that,” he said, recalling the domestic violence he witnessed stepfathers exhibit towards his mum. He further confessed that as the eldest and only son ahead of four stepsisters, standing up for women is a key value of Jackson’s.

“I’ve done it before where I don’t even know somebody and I’ve had to step in,” he explained. “It’s something I would do, no matter what. I’d roll the sleeves up for that any day of the week.”

“Like if someone’s disrespecting the person I’m with, I would also be very vocal in letting them know it’s not OK, and I’m not a big fan of that.”

Jackson Lonie’s Discusses His Past Relationships

Jackson’s audition tape revealed that the gentle giant has only had a handful of past relationships.

However, he confessed that his first relationship at 18-years-old was extremely unhealthy.

“The first relationship I had was very toxic,” he said, noting that they prohibited each other from talking to the opposite sex. “We were young… it was just sh*thouse.”

Jackson also pulled back the curtain on why his most recent relationship ended, three years prior to MAFS.

“She had a lot of past traumas… with her exes,” he admitted. “I tried to work with her through it but she never really spoke to me about it.

“There was no communication there. It just got to a point where it was like, ‘I’m trying to help you but you’re not trying to help yourself’.”

Thankfully, the experts have made a rare feat in accurately matching Jackson and Olivia. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the experiment (and life) has in store for them!
