Ever wanted to show off your cooking skills and prove you have what it takes to be on My Kitchen Rules 2022?

Back this year after the Pete Evans fiasco of 2021, My Kitchen Rules is casting for the upcoming season and they’re looking for YOU!

But, before you can even think about mastering those skills in the kitchen of MKR you need to master the casting application first.

What Are the Requirements of Applying for My Kitchen Rules 2022?

The first requirement is that you apply as a team of two with someone known to you, such as a friend, relative or partner – well duh!

The official casting call notes that all applicants are required to be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia and both must be 18 years or older as of March 13 2022.

It also requests that applicants provide photos of themselves and their teammate, preferably with at least one recent photo. No cat fishing allowed! So, if you’re applying with your best friend who you see all the time but never get photos with, then it’s time to change that.

The Key To Nailing A Casting Application for My Kitchen Rules

The casting callout also gives the option to upload a three-minute video of you both, sharing bits about yourselves and why you would be a perfect fit for MKR.

The key here is to just be yourself, or y’know, just fake it til you make it I guess.

Like all reality shows, the key is to “be honest and have fun” (LOL) and to also be creative when filming your video. If you want to stand out from the crowd then make sure you highlight what makes you unique!

Things To Include In An Application Video When Applying For My Kitchen Rules

Some of the things they suggest you address are *checks notes* your names…ahem.

Aside from the blatantly obvious, they want to know what you love about cooking, why you’re applying for the show, why as a team you would be a great fit and finally to describe each other.

Applications for the upcoming 2022 season will close on March 13 2022 so make sure you get yours in on time!

The final step is to cross you fingers, and if you end up being successful, start bracing yourself for what comes along with the weird and wonderful world of reality television.
