Michael Brunelli has taken to Instagram to share a video of his proposal to Married at First Sight Australia partner Martha Kalifatidis, revealing the exact moment he popped the question.
The couple met (and technically, married) at the MAFS alter in 2019 and announced their official engagement in December last year.
Yesterday Michael took to Instagram, posting a Reel captioned: “How do I explain this one to our future kids? @marthaa__k”
The video shows a birds-eye shot of the MAFS alum popping the question to his beau, set over record-scratch audio, with a voiceover.
“Yep, that’s me,” the unknown voice quips. “You’re probably wondering how I got into the situation.” It then cuts to a clip of Michael’s 2018 MAFS audition tape.
“Why am I looking for love?” he questions, “I’m looking for love because I’ve been single for four years, I’ve had enough of the dating game and I want to meet someone and travel the world with them and create these life-long memories.”
Was it just us who totally forgot Michael had long hair back then?
Whilst fans were quick to gush over the adorable video, Love Island Australia Season 1 star Josh Moss was quick to poke fun at his friend.
“Are you in your mum’s spare room for the MAFS audition? You’re speaking so fast and kinda quiet,” Josh teased.
The designers of Martha’s GORGEOUS engagement ring, Armans Jewellery, commented: “We want to see the proposal video!!” Us too, Armans!
Michael and Martha Keep Their Relationship Relatively Private
The video didn’t reveal too much about the proposal, but for fans, it was a rare glimpse into Martha and Michael’s relationship behind close doors.
The Married at First Sight Australia couple remain typically coy about each other on social media.
Unlike many other reality TV couples, a loved-up post is a rarity on the pair’s respective socials.
Michael explained his reasoning for this in a sweet Instagram tribute to his now-fiancee on Valentine’s Day last year.
“So I don’t often profess my love for you on social media… mainly because it makes people gag on their morning toast as they scroll,” he joked.
“But for once, I’ll drop a couple of corny lines about how much I love you.
“Because it’s a damn lot!”

Yesterday Martha appeared on KIIS FM’s Will & Woody show and spilled to hosts Will McMahon and Woody Whitelaw that the ring set Michael back “close to” $100,000… WOW!
