Former Bachelorette Australia favourites Todd King and Adam Todd are among a number of eligible fellas in the running to be the next Bachelor.

Despite Jimmy Nicholson‘s 2021 season failing miserably with ratings at an all-time low, it seems Network Ten have high hopes for their upcoming season.

The network announced in January that casting is already underway for The Bachelor 2022, with a callout on Instagram citing that they are “on the hunt for single women and men looking for a shot at true love”.

Naturally, fans of the franchise went into a frenzy, assuming that this casting call was confirmation that the new Bachelor would be bisexual.

However, a production insider spilled to So Dramatic! that this is not the case.

What’s more, is that they also shared the names of a number of potential leads that they’re in talks with — none of whom are publicly bisexual.

Todd King

Where do we know him from? The Bachelorette Australia 2018

Oh, Todd.

We had such high hopes for this literal knight in shining armour when he appeared on TV to win over Ali Oetjen. And don’t deny it, we all shed a tear along with the 30-year-old when Ali revealed she’d fallen for Taite Radley over him.

However, Todd has bounced back in spectacular fashion, coming to the party with a number of ways the Bachelor franchise could be revamped, resulting in calls for the fan-fave to be the next star of the show.

“Make Todd The Bachelor – he is elite,” one fan penned on Instagram in January.

Another wrote: “Aww I loved him from his season. Let’s start a campaign to get him back on our screens.”

Adam Todd

Where do we know him from? The Bachelorette Australia 2020

Adam won us all over when he appeared on Elly and Becky Miles‘ dual season of the Bachelorette in 2020.

While the geologist is very nice to look at, we’ll admit that we didn’t see him as a Bachelor frontrunner until he posted a cryptic caption on Instagram over New Years.

“Found me some roses in the garden, does anyone want them?” he questioned, adding that he’s “really excited” for 2022.

Is this his own personal bid to head up the tenth season?

Tony Armstrong

Where do we know him from? The Project, former AFL player

Australia loves Tony Armstrong, which is why the former pro-footballer-turned-presenter is our number one pick to resurrect the Bachelor franchise.

As it turns out, entertainment reporter Richard Reid voiced his support for the 32-year-old’s Bachelor potential, dubbing him, “funny, flirty and oh-so-easy on the eyes.” And yes, we will be also petitioning for Tony to have this tattooed on his body, please and thank you.

The Uninspired Unemployed (Jack Steele & Matt Ford)

Where do we know him from? Instagram icons

Known for their slapstick and satirical content on Instagram, Jack Steele and Matt Ford could bring some much-needed comedic relief to The Bachelor franchise.

They even confessed that the cheeky Bachie producers have been sliding into their management’s DMs with requests that they join the show!

“We’re like ‘nah’,” Jack told Fitzy and Wippa when he recalled the offer, adding that they’d prefer to appear on Big Brother or Celebrity Apprentice.

Dr Chris Brown

Where do we know him from? Bondi Vet, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

In a tale as old as time, everyone’s favourite vet Dr Chris Brown is again being summoned to be the next Bachelor.

While we are more than ready to see the famed vet tame a bunch of wild Aussie singletons, Chris isn’t convinced the dating show is for him.

“I don’t know if there is a price [that would make me sign up],” he told radio hosts Fitzy and Wippa last year.

Chris continued: “It’s appealing. If you re-open the bucket list for the finale I’ll probably do it for 20 grand and a drinks card.”
