Former Married at First Sight Australia groom Justin Fischer has been charged with two counts of assault.

Most known for declaring his millionaire status during the experiment’s fifth season in 2018, Justin was paired with Carly Bowyer before the pair failed to find love with each other.

As revealed in episode 137 of the So Dramatic! podcast, host Megan Pustetto obtained court documents that detailed charges faced by the 43-year-old father-of-two.

In late 2021, the former MAFS star was charged with two counts of assault — one of which was against a woman — along with the offence of stalking, intimidation, and intending fear and physical harm.

Justin was also issued with an interim Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) which authorities took out on behalf of the alleged victims, Andrew and Natalia Burton.

As a condition of the AVO, he must not “assault or threaten” the couple. In addition, he should not “stalk, harass or intimidate them or intentionally or recklessly destroy any of their property”.

Has Justin Fischer’s Case Been Heard Before A Court?

The former reality star’s matter was heard before a court on December 26, 2021 when he was remanded on bail.

Justin was not present at the time. However, a court date was set for later this year when the TV groom will enter a formal plea.

If found guilty of the alleged assault, Justin could face up to five years imprisonment over the charges.

So Dramatic! has reached out to Justin for further comment on the incident.

Not The First Time Justin Fischer Has Been In Trouble

In 2019, Justin was banned from overseeing and managing companies for three years.

He was disqualified by The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) after acting as the ‘shadow director’ for two Queensland companies that went into liquidation.

ASIC found that the reality star did not act in the best interests of the failed companies. At the time, the businesses owed $543,000 to creditors.

What Happened During Justin Fischer’s Time On Married At First Sight?

After their TV wedding in 2018, Justin was criticised by Carly for his cockiness and “red flag” single status.

While the pair failed to find love with each other, Carly announced at the Married at First Sight reunion that she had begun dating her co-star Troy Delmege.

The unlikely couple went on to date for nine months before calling it quits via Instagram.

Carly has since welcomed a son, Bailey, with current partner Neil Goldsmith.
