Casting producers are out in full force as they seek to recruit contestants for two brand new reality shows coming in 2022.

As reported in episode 133 of the So Dramatic! podcast, we’re going to be up to our neck in drama in the New Year. And considering one of the shows is called Heartbreak Island, you just know the tea is going to be piping hot!

One Drama Army member slid into our DMs with a screenshot of a casting call for the new series.

“Are you single and love to have fun?” the callout reads. “Are you popular but want to be famous?” Who doesn’t?!

Producers also want people who are “competitive” with hopes of winning “a huge grand prize”, who are “body confident, fit and aged between 18 and 30 years old”.

So, in short, they’re not really asking for much! LOL!

What Is Heartbreak Island?

Unsurprisingly, Heartbreak Island is another reality show which kicked off overseas before making its way Down Under.

Launching in New Zealand in 2018, the series features contestants from both NZ and Australia and puts a unique spin on modern dating shows by combining online dating with face-to-face interactions.

Eight guys and eight gals will arrive at a tropical location and will choose three potential partners based on their online dating profiles. Wow, are we really out here swiping through Tinder and copping red flags without the promise of prize money? #Robbed.

Based on their choices, the contestants will be matched up to compete in challenges that will test their loyalty and compatibility.

And how do they take out the top prize of $100,000, you ask?

The couples will be ranked by popularity across the series, with the number one pairing taking home the cash prize at the end of the competition. Seems easy enough, right?

Another Dating Show For Single Parents Is Coming In 2022

Heartbreak Island isn’t the only new reality series coming to a screen near you.

Local production company A Cast Of Thousands has been spotted seeking single Aussie parents for “a new and upcoming show”.

The callout reads: “Now casting Sydney. Single mums and single dads. A fun new dating TV show with heart! Email your details and photo to casting@acastofthousands.”

This has huge Yours, Mine and Ours vibes and we are HERE for it!

Tune in next year when all the drama kicks off in 2022!
