In news that doesn’t surprise anyone, The Bachelorette’s Konrad Bien-Stephen has unfollowed Brooke Blurton and Darvid Garayeli on Instagram.
As reported in episode 131 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Abbie Chatfield’s new bae got his account back last Thursday and immediately unfollowed both Brooke and her winner.
Why is this news, you may be asking? Well… it turns out that prior to #Krabbie-gate, the former carpenter was following both Brooke and Darvid while his account was being managed by a third party during the show’s run.
It is interesting to note that Konnie is still following other Bachie alum from his season including Luca Fraraccio, Amelia Rubio, Taje Fowler, Ritu Chhina, Carissa Croft and Becca Pressing to name a few.
What Happened Between Konrad, Brooke and Darvid?
While Konrad has yet to make any public mention of the drama surrounding finale week, he is in a relationship with Abbie who has had a very public falling out with The Bachelorette Australia 2021 couple.
Then, during an interview with KIISFM’s Kyle and Jackie O, Brooke did reveal what she felt about the high-profile coupling.
“I guess because Konrad was such a favourite, the spoilers taint the show a little bit,’ she told the co-hosts.
“If people know what the outcome would be, they’re not going to watch the show. And that’s fair enough.”
On Thursday, Brooke took to her Instagram stories to reveal that she and Darvid were going “offline” in the wake of the drama.
“D and I just want to thank everyone for all the congratulation messages.
The youth worker confessed she and Darvid were “personally and mentally… disrupted by all the crap that came with finale week.”
Highlighting that she is not a “hostile person”, nor does she “have any hate in her heart”, Brooke said it meant a lot for her to be vulnerable on The Bachelorette.
“Not only that but for what it meant for the LGBTQIA+ and First Nations Community to have that display of representation,” she added.
“We’ve decided to go within ourselves and go offline for this week,” she said.
What Was the Fall-Out for Konrad Bien-Stephen After the Byron Bay Pash Went Public?
Even though the attention has been put mainly on Abbie and Brooke, Konrad did lose his $5,000 bonus that he was meant to receive for abiding by his The Bachelorette Australia 2021 contract.
While he didn’t explicitly drop the news himself, he did go pashing Abbie in a public bar, where it was all caught on video! And let’s just say, Network Ten were not happy about it.
According to a very reliable So Dramatic! source, Konrad not only lost the bonus — which is promised to contestants for keeping hush throughout the season — but also more opportunities with the network.
“Channel 10 had some very big plans for him,” the source told us. Eeep!
