It’s a story we’ve heard many times before and this time, it’s Love Island Australia’s Eliza Kennedy who dumped her boyfriend to go into the villa.
When she entered the show as a bomb, she claimed that she had been single for two years, however, this is not the case.
As reported in episode 125 of the So Dramatic! podcast, a number of sources close to the 26-year-old revealed that she is only fresh out of a relationship. In fact, they claim that she dumped the guy she was seeing to go on the show!
“His name is Steen Jones,” one source revealed to host Megan Pustetto. “He is a semi-popular mural artist from Brisbane. The proof is in this video.”
The video in question was posted to Instagram on September 16 and shows Eliza at various points — including a boomerang of her on Steen’s lap.
A Second Source Confirmed Eliza and Steen Broke Up Just Before Love Island Australia 2021
“She moved from Melbourne to Brisbane because she lost her job and she has family in Brisbane and was talking to Steen for a while,” another source said.
“She then uprooted everything and left Melbourne. They were seeing each other from July to the end of September.”
According to the source, she broke things off with him when she was confirmed to be an intruder on the show.
“He was posting her on his socials (stories) heaps, but she never posted any of him on her stories because she knew the producers would be watching and she really wanted to get on the show to become an influencer!”
The source also revealed that Steen and Eliza had dated previously however, the “blue tick got the best of her”.
Well, her Channel 9 bio does say that she had most recently been in a “situationship” that “didn’t end well”… LOL!
Eliza Kennedy Has Many Connections to the Reality TV World
Eliza is currently coupled up with Hugh Yates on the hit show, however, this crop of Islanders aren’t her first group of reality TV friends.
Because of course, she wouldn’t be an actual reality star without already having connections to the incestuous world of reality TV!
In fact, Eliza went to school with Abbie Chatfield, who revealed the titbit on Love Island Afterparty. She is also followed by SAS Australia star Jett Kenny!
Plus, she’s good friends with Aussie DJ Will Sparks‘ long-time girlfriend Brooklyn. Oh, what a tangled web they weave!
