While “Kravis” fans around the world rejoiced at the news of their engagement, a music video has surfaced of Kween Sophie Monk pashing Travis Barker.
“Before Kravis there was Trophie,” the anonymous account captioned their throwback post.
Starring in the music video for 2004’s Always, Sophie plays the love interest of the entire band, moving past band members Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge to get to drummer, Travis.
How Did Sophie Monk Come to Be In the Always Music Video?
While you may think that Sophie filmed the clip during her short stint in LA, it was actually shot while the guys were on tour in Australia.
The video featured Sophie moving through a set (which was apparently used by The Wiggles) and displayed by severed horizontal parts.
Even though Sophie makes out with Travis, the three band members are actually playing one character. The story depicts them attempting to repair a damaged relationship.
In an interview with MTV, bassist Tom Delonge said the video was like doing “algebraic formulation on paper when you watch it”.
“It’s the same kind of feeling […] but it’s rad,” he said, and let’s definitely bring that word back!
The video was filmed by Brad Rushing who has been a cinematographer since 1989. It was edited by a dude called David Blackburn, who won the MVPA Best Editing Award for the clip.
Were Sophie Monk and Travis Barker Ever a Thing?
While a sh*t hot clip — and a very convincing pash — Sophie and Travis were never a real couple. In fact, Travis was engaged to his first wife, Shanna Moakler at the time.
Sophie was single and had just finished up in the band Bardot. But, in 2006 she was linked to movie star Jason Statham in a truly WTAF moment before a string of other high profile celebs!
Travis is now engaged to Keeping Up with the Kardashians star Kourtney while Sophie is all loved up with fiancé Joshua Gross.
