Brooke Blurton is embarking on her journey on The Bachelorette Australia 2021 as the world’s first-ever pansexual and Indigenous lead. So we’ve decided to take a walk down memory lane and check out the exes who didn’t receive a rose from our queen before her own Bachie experience.

Nick the ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins

Fans of the Bachelor franchise will remember Brooke from her debut on the 2018 season, where she vied for the heart of Nick the ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins.

The 26-year-old even found herself in the final three before deciding to bow out of the experience. Her decision shocked not only Nick, but also viewers who were rooting for a relationship between the pair.

The real reason Brooke decided to leave the experience didn’t come to light until she appeared on Bachelor in Paradise in 2019. She told her fellow castmates she “thought [she]’d be that girl at the end”, before dropping a shocking bomb.

“He stopped the cameras and smothered his mic to tell me that he wasn’t going to pick anyone in the end.” Juicy!

Alex Nation

After fleeing from the Bach mansion, Brooke — who publicly came out as bisexual in 2018 — struck up a flirtation Alex Nation on Bachelor in Paradise.

The pair went on a date and shared a steamy pash but Brooke was left heartbroken when Alex decided to explore a relationship with dog park pest Bill Goldsmith.

“That part with Alex, I just think she never really was genuine with her feelings and I could really read through that,” Brooke told WHO at the time. “I just don’t really value people in my life like that.”

Also on BIP, Brooke found herself attracted to another Alex — US Bachelorette alum Alex Bordyukov — but nothing eventuated past a few cheeky kisses.

Nick Power

Brooke debuted a new man in her life post-Paradise blues, gushing about Nick Power in an Instagram post which revealed that she was in love “with a beautiful man who I can not express how friggen lucky I am to have in my life [sic].”

A year later, following a social media hiatus, Brooke took to Instagram to announce her split from Nick, who she knew prior to her Bachelor days.

“I’ve been grieving a break up and I just haven’t been able to build up the courage to speak about it online and openly,” the 26-year-old said, also thanking her thousands of followers for their endless support during the transition.

Most recently, the pair were snapped catching up just days before her debut on The Bachelorette Australia 2021!

G-Flip

It was only a matter of time before two Aussie icons hooked up, and Brooke’s supporters certainly went into a frenzy over the possibility of our Bachelorette dating musician G Flip.

The pair attended the Australian Open together in early 2021 which of course, sent the rumour mill turning. Brooke teased at a possible relationship with pics of the singer on her Instagram story which ensued a few flirty exchanges on the social media platform.

But alas, the youth worker crushed our dreams and spilled to News.com.au that “[G-Flip] and Char, her personal assistant… are really good friends” of hers.

Jamie-Lee Dayz

Brooke and Jamie-Lee Dayz both competed for that final rose from the Honey Badger on The Bachelor in 2018 and as the only two openly bisexual women in the house, rumours swirled that the pair had struck up their own romance!

Jamie-Lee quickly shut down the allegations, telling E! News Australia that the rumour was “backwards”.

“Just because there’s two… ‘bisexual’ people in one room, doesn’t mean that they’re automatically dating or they had a fling,” she said. “It’s a bit of shame to see that our society just jumps straight onto these rumours. It’s not where I thought we were at.”

But we’re guessing there is at least a little bit of an attraction there, because Jamie-Lee was recently revealed to be one of the contestants on The Bachelorette 2021!

“When I found out Brooke was the next Bachelorette, I knew it was now or never,” she wrote on Instagram. “I strongly believe things happen for a reason and I feel like this timing has been nothing short of fate.”

While the Honey Badger’s season of The Bachelor was airing, Brooke spoke to Now To Love about her dating history.

The proud Noongar-Yamatji woman noted that she had experienced four serious relationships before appearing on the show.

“I’ve had two serious relationships with guys and I’ve also had two serious relationships with girls,” Brooke said at the time, and added that it wasn’t easy revealing she was interested in women, too.  “So my longest [relationship] was with a guy, and that was for three years when I was quite young.

“It is a concern when you’re in a relationship with a guy and you tell them that you also like the same sex. They get a little bit, I guess, insecure in the relationship.”
