In celebration of Big Brother‘s 21st birthday, the famed reality show will be back in 2022 with an all-star cast of previous contestants!

At Seven’s Upfront event in October, a new promo trailer revealed that past housemates will go up against 12 brand new contestants in the house.

“In 2022, Big Brother is going back to the future,” Big Brother can be heard saying in the clip. “Housemates of the past are reentering my house, and they will come face to face with 12 brand new contestants.”

Big Brother also said we “won’t believe” which old housemates have been “knocking at [his] door, dying to come back in”.

OH. MY. GOD. Is this really what we think it is?

Who Is Returning?

Even though Channel 7 has only been home to Big Brother for the two most recent series, it looks like the new cast will feature contestants from the show’s complete 14 seasons.

As revealed in episode 111 of So Dramatic! With Megan Pustetto, 2013 housemate Tully Smyth will be one of the big names returning to the house — and apparently Big Brother: Back To The Future is already in production!

One source spilled that Tully’s recent absence from social media was due to filming kicking off on Tuesday, October 12.

So Dramatic! can also exclusively reveal several other all-stars who will be joining Tully as Big Brother’s guests.

Season nine alumni Estelle Landy and Layla Subritzky are both returning to our screens after failing to take out the win in 2012. Estelle finished in third place, while fan-favourite Layla came in as runner-up against Benjamin Norris.

Not gonna lie, we can’t wait to be blessed with a 2022 remix of Oats A-La Layla!

Winning duo Reggie Bird (2003) and Tim Dormer (2013) are also slated to make their comebacks in 2022. This will be Tim’s third shot at the game after the wild-haired larrikin appeared on the fourth season of Big Brother Canada in 2016.

Die-hard Big Brother fans will remember heartthrob Farmer Dave Graham, who took the small screen by storm in 2006. The now 41-year-old was famously dubbed the “gay cowboy” after bravely coming out to his housemates while on the show.

The Filming Details

With filming already underway, we can only expect that more details will emerge as time goes on.

Hopefully, those details include info on whether Ben and bum dance queen Sara Marie are returning — because what’s the point of an all-stars season if they’re not in it?!

At this time, we’re lead to believe that the filming of Big Brother 2022 will take place over the next twelve weeks. That’s a lot of time for some spicy drama to ensue!

While we wait to see the all-stars and newbies go head to head, you can get your reality fix when Big Brother VIP Australia premieres in November.
