In what can only be described as devastating news for past Bachie contestants, Bachelor in Paradise Australia 2022 has been cancelled… Again!

Just like any good reality TV relationship, next year’s season has been called off, announced to be back on again, before finally being cancelled indefinitely yet again.

After the debacle that was the 2020 season, the series was put on hold while they waited to grow a bigger pool of contestants to cast from. Then, the casting team began reaching out to some fan faves to return to the island.

In episode 111 of the So Dramatic! Podcast with Megan Pustetto, a source revealed that previous contestants from the franchise had been approached to star on BIP.

“A lot of us were approached by producers and asked if we would be keen to do it and some of us were even in talks,” they revealed. “But we have just been told that it’s no longer going ahead because of COVID.

“I think it’s probably more likely because of the lack of interest in the franchise. The whole Bachelor series is riding on Brooke’s shoulders. If her season tanks, it’s all over, red rover!” Ooft!

The story checks out to be fair, because So Dramatic! also hears that they were planning to film Bachelor in Paradise in QLD and Fiji — obviously due to travel restrictions.

“But it seems like QLD is also impossible at the moment and doesn’t look like anything will be changing by November when they usually film!” Megan explained. Damn!

Who Were the Past Contestants Approached?

So Dramatic! can confirm that Laurina Fleure, newly single Todd King, newly single Cam Cranley, Renee Barrett, Ciarran Stott, Charley Bond, and former Bachelorette Elly Miles were among the names approached.
