The Bachelorette Australia star Angie Kent has boldly accused producers of setting her up with “deeply average men” on the show during her 2019 season.

Considering we can literally only remember three contestants from that season, we’re gonna have to agree!

Speaking to TV Week in October, the 31-year-old said she “can’t wait” to watch the new season of The Bachelorette, which begins on October 20.

“I can’t wait to watch Brooke [Blurton] being our first Indigenous and bisexual Bachelorette,” Angie said.

In a franchise first, both men and women will compete for Brooke’s heart on the show, something the Gogglebox star wishes she was afforded during her season.

“I was I knew that was an option because I’m pansexual,” she confessed. “I feel like I got stitched up with a bunch of deeply average blokes.

“Just kidding!”

Angie finished her Bachelorette journey loved-up with personal trainer Carlin Sterritt, but the pair sadly split in July 2020.

Coming Out As Pansexual After The Bachelorette

After admitting that Carlin’s “conservative” nature was behind the couple’s split, Angie revealed her true sexuality on the Kyle and Jackie O Show last year.

During the interview, the reality star said that she “falls in love with a person, not the gender”.

Though she hadn’t been with a woman before Angie said it was something she’d consider after Kyle Sandilands questioned if she was “open to women”.

The former Bachelorette was then asked if her admission meant she was pansexual, which Angie confirmed that she was.

“There you go, I’ve got a label. I think it comes down to chemistry,” she clarified.

Brooke Will Be The First Openly Pansexual Bachelorette Lead

Like Angie, 2021 Bachelorette Brooke is also attracted to a person regardless of their sex or identity.

When the new season announcement came in May, the 26-year-old said that she was “so excited” to “finally find that person [she’s] been waiting for”.

“Having the opportunity to choose my person and who I want in my life, is a truly unique and special experience,” her statement read.

The Bachelorette Australia 2021 begins on Wednesday, October 20 at 7:30pm on Channel Ten and 10Play.
