Bachelor in Paradise star, Conor Canning, has lost his property agent licence after stealing a client database from his former employer.

On Wednesday, a magistrate ruled that the 30-year-old was not a “fit and proper person to practise in the industry”.

According to ABC News, Conor was deregistered by the Property Agent’s Tribunal in November 2020 and then repeatedly lied about it in legal documents.

What Did the November 2020 Tribunal Find?

Conor accessed the database without permission and then “misused” it. And even shared it with a mortgage broker.

“The golden list, my man. This is highly confidential but I trust you,” he wrote in an email which later became evidence.

After being reported by his former employer, Conor then mislead a board investigator. He told them that he got the information elsewhere and then he gave two false statutory declarations.

The reality star was then found guilty of “unprofessional conduct” and was fined $30,000 and stripped of his licence.

What Happened to Conor Canning In Court Proceedings on Wednesday, September 29?

After the tribunal, Conor appealed the decision.

Magistrate Chris Webster found that Conor was “not an honest person”.

He said that “considerable planning” had taken place, which meant a financial advantage.

“The proved and admitted allegations against the applicant were serious and a finding by the tribunal that the applicant was guilty of unprofessional conduct was appropriate,” Magistrate Webster wrote in his findings.

ABC News also reports that the Magistrate found his “attempted” attack on his former employer the most “aggravating feature”.

“He attempted to blame Mr Manton, the victim, for reporting [Mr Canning’s] wrongful actions.

“Rather than accept responsibility for his actions, he chose to attack a person making a legitimate complaint to the professional board.”

What Happens Now?

“It is particularly important that a dishonest person is not employed in that industry,” Magistrate Weber wrote in his findings.

He concluded that Conor was “not a fit and proper person to practice in the real estate industry”.
