Hold on to your spatulas! The Great Australian Bake Off is back for a fifth season.
In case you didn’t have enough cooking shows to binge, the OG giant hailing from the UK, is putting Aussie home bakers to the (technical) test.
For the past few seasons, the FOXTEL series, has featured culinary icon and all-round magic queen, Maggie Beer, who serves as judge alongside chef, Matt Moran.
“How exciting that all the gang is back for Bake Off,” Maggie said in a press release.
“It’s such a special show where the contestants not only dazzle me with their love of baking, but they are so open to continually learn and to help each other. It’s a real joy to be involved.”
When Will the Show Air?
Claire Hooper and Mel Buttle will once again host, as 12 baking enthusiasts are put through a series of mouth-watering challenges, testing their skills and creativity.
The fifth season of The Great Australian Bake Off, will premier in 2022 with 10 mouth-watering episodes and is currently in production.
What Happens During The Great Australian Bake Off?
Tackling delicious tasty treats including desserts, cakes, biscuits, breads and pastries, each week one cook will be crowned Star Baker.
Unfortunately, each week another will bid adieu to the big ol’ bake off shed. It truly is some tense sh*t.
Ultimately, only one can be crowned the winner and severe bragging rights at the next company bake sale.
The Great Australian Bake Off is based on the original format licensed by BBC Studios and has been airing down under since 2015.
If you can’t wait until next year, we highly recommend jumping on BINGE and watching the Junior Bake Off.
But be warned, it’s literally hours and hours of stress, watching kids dropping baked goods on the floor…
