Sex and the City star Willie Garson has died, aged 57.
The actor passed away on Tuesday after a “short illness”, surrounded by his family and friends.
Numerous reports, including one by TMZ revealed that Willie had been “battling with cancer”, though it has not been confirmed that it was the cause of death.
The White Collar actor was to reprise his most infamous role as Carrie Bradshaw’s best friend, Stanford Blatch in the 2021 reboot And Just Like That…
Actor Titus Welliver broke the news saying: “There are no words. I love you dear brother. We are fewer,”
Willie leaves behind a son, Nathen Garson, who shared a tribute on Instagram.
“”I love you so much papa. Rest In Peace and I’m so glad you got to share all your adventures with me and were able to accomplish so much,” he wrote. “I’m so proud of you. I will always love you, but I think it’s time for you to go on an adventure of your own.
“You’ll always be with me. Love you more than you will ever know and I’m glad you can be at peace now. You always were the toughest and funniest and smartest person I’ve known. I’m glad you shared you’re love with me. I’ll never forget it or lose it [sic].”
Willie’s last tweet was poignant and fitting for the beloved star:

It was his standout role as Stanford which saw the actor play the iconic character for six years, two films and now the reboot. He has also appeared in Hawaii Five-0, Quantum Leap,”Girl Meets World, Mr. Belvedere, Just Shoot Me!, Big Mouth, and Supergirl among the 170 film and TV credits.
