Australian singer-songwriter Pete Murray, 51, has blessed our eardrums with his soothing tones for almost 20 years, and now the ARIA award winning star is swapping his guitar for combat boots as he sets his sights on the SAS Australia course.

In 2003 Pete released an independent album called The Game but this career really took off when he was signed to Sony BMG and released his next album, Feeler, in 2003.

His song So Beautiful launched him into the spotlight and it quickly became a national hit. You couldn’t walk into your favorite pub or share your friend’s iPod without hearing it.

The success of So Beautiful drove his album to number one on the ARIA Album charts where it sold six times platinum and landed Pete a whopping twelve ARIA nominations.

In the wake of this massive success, Pete went on to release his next album in 2005, See The Sun, which debuted at number one in Australia. His song Opportunity became the biggest song of 2006 and was the most played track on Australian radio.

More recently, the Aussie legend has welcomed his fourth child, a little girl named Sahara, with his wife Mira Eady. The couple are also parents to daughter Saachi, three.

Pete also has two teenage sons, Charlie and Pedro, from his previous marriage to Amanda Coutts.

In March 2021 Pete released his highly anticipated new EP, The Night, proving he’s still just as swoon-worthy as he was back in 2003.

When describing his experience on SAS Australia, Pete said, “This was one of the most thrilling things I have ever experienced. It was exactly what I thought it was going to be. In the first task, I felt like I was going to die, but straight after it I was so pumped up with adrenaline that it felt amazing. Nothing you do can really prepare you for what you are about to experience.” Sounds intense!
