Former Bachelorette Georgia Love has been taken off air as a reporter on Channel 7 after she was called out for “racism” over an Instagram post in early September 2021.

In episode 101 of So Dramatic! With Megan Pustetto a source spilled some piping hot tea about the situation and revealed Georgia had also been DUMPED as the ambassador of Chadstone Shopping Centre.

Georgia posted this earlier today and it got such huge backlash that Chadstone called her today and has cut all ties with her, after she had only just signed a $100,000 twelve month contract with them,” the source told host Megan Pustetto last Monday.

The Herald Sun reported that Seven News Director, Shaun Menegola, sent an email to Georgia’s newsroom colleagues that stated: “Following a workplace investigation that had to follow due process, I want to let you know that Georgia has been counselled and will be reassigned to the production desk, effective immediately.”

Last Monday, Georgia shared a video of a cat sitting behind the glass doors of an Asian restaurant, with text asking if the cat was a shop attendant or lunch and the backlash was fast and furious!

After the post was shared by numerous people and accounts online, including Aussie Influencer Opinions, an account that popped up in the absence of Celeb Spell Check, Georgia swiftly deleted the post and issued an apology, stating she “meant for this to be a joke about an animal being in a restaurant at lunch service” but realised it was “offensive.”

After being called out for the way her most recent post perpetuates casual anti-Asian hate, Georgia thanked those who called her out on her tone-deaf post, and said: “Thank you to those who called me out. This is what we need to make sure we are all accountable and do better.”

Things went from bad to worse when Aussie Influencer Opinions dug up an old post of Georgia’s from 2013 where she was seemingly making the same racist joke she was accused of making on her Instagram story.

The picture, which was posted to her feed, was of an animal hospital sharing a wall with a Chinese restaurant and she captioned the photo “suspicious” and then wrote “best.” It has since been deleted.

The account pointed out how the picture from 2013 provided “proof” that Georgia had been casually racist on both accounts by making fun of the Asian community with micro aggressions.

Georgia has since also deleted her Twitter account.
