Dan Ewing, 36, is one of the more familiar faces in this year’s SAS Australia cast, with a fanbase all over Australia. Best known for playing Heath Braxton, the irresistible bad boy heartthrob on the long-running television show, Home and Away, fans were distraught when he left the series in 2014.

In January 2021, it was revealed that the actor was returning to Summer Bay.

“I won’t say he’s there for a long time, but he’s certainly there for a good time!” Dan told Channel 7 about his second stint. Ooh mysterious, we can’t wait to see what the infamous Heath Braxton will bring us this time around.

Apart from his stint on the long-running soap, Ewing is an established actor, who has appeared in back-to-back films for the past two years. According to his official website, Dan has recently co-starred with Ken Isaacs, Dylan O’Brien and Temuera Morrison, in the critically acclaimed and Oscar nominated movie Love and Monsters.

A peek at Dan’s Instagram account reveals he is a big sports fan, especially basketball and he posts about the Sydney Kings. However, we don’t think a love of basketball is going to help him as a recruit with the SAS.

As for his private life, Dan has been dating actress Kat Risteska since 2016!

According to KidSpot, however, Dan and Kat had already been friends for six years before they started dating, while Dan was still married to his ex-wife, Marni Little. There were also whispers that Dan tried to rekindle things with Marni before dating Kat in November 2016. Our heads are spinning!

As of 2021, Kat and Dan have been together for 5 years and the loved-up couple constantly post about each other on social media, supporting one another’s achievements. We love to see it!

Dan also shares a child with his ex Marni, a boy named Archie, seven.

The now reality star is also an activist and regularly posts about prevention of child exploitation and LGBTIQA+ rights.

In 2018, he and his girlfriend were involved in an anti-bullying initiative, Isaac Humphries called the Inside Out Campaign. This initiative was made to remind victims of bullying they aren’t alone, to speak up and to know that people are there to support them and the message was all about bullying never being okay.

In 2019, Dan publicly criticized Israel Folau’s GoFundMe   in which he claims Folau misused funds to promote a campaign against the community, a “gross violation” of the service.

“Bravo @gofundme. #lovewins #equality #repost @espnausnz. “The fundraising campaign will be issuing a full refund to everyone who donated to a campaign that ‘violated the terms of service’ of GoFundMe #IsraelFolau #equality.” His post said.

We stan Dan for being an LGBTIQ+ ally!

As for his stint on SAS Australia, in the official teaser trailer for the series, Dan confessed that he wanted to become a “better version of himself”. The trailer reveals that SAS Australia’s Chief Instructor Ant Middleton interrogates the actor about his intentions on the show, so it’s no surprise that Dan will face conflict with the instructor. How scandalous!
