She might have been comfortable underneath her Bushranger helmet on The Masked Singer, but singer-songwriter Bonnie Anderson will soon learn there’s no hiding on SAS Australia 2021 when it comes to facing some of the toughest challenges known to mankind.

This Aussie starlet first burst onto the scene when she won the first ever season of Australia’s Got Talent in 2007 when she was just twelve-years-old, then (like almost every Australian with a glimmer of talent) nabbed a role on Neighbours in 2019 as Bea Nilsson, before being crowned the ultimate winner of The Masked Singer 2020.

In 2019, the performer faced court after allegedly lying to authorities to cover for her ex-boyfriend Matt Arnautovic who was reportedly caught driving Bonnie’s car over the speed limit in 2017.

Police alleged that Bonnie told them her ex “had been with her all night”, despite Matt later admitting that he was in fact driving Bonnie’s vehicle in a dangerous manner. After pleading guilty to failing to reveal who was driving her car, the judge released the singer on a good behaviour bond without conviction, and ordered her to donate $500 to charity.

The 26-year-old will join 17 other Australian household names in the likes of Alicia Molik, Pete Murray and Mark Philippoussis as they’re all put through extreme physical endurance, sleep deprivation and psychological testing.

SAS Australia 2021 has shifted locations from the Snowy Mountain (where the first season was filmed) to the Blue Mountains, which offers a slightly better climate for those braving its bushes, after 2020 participant Ali Oetjen opened up about the harrowing experience.

“No hot water, no showers, no flushing toilets. Sleep and food deprived, riddled with adrenaline, fear & exhaustion,” the personal trainer revealed on her Instagram story after her exit from the show.  “The WORST thing was the cold… Freezing temperatures ALL the time with no respite, being wet with wind chills made it so much worse.”

SAS Australia 2021 is airing on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
