Channel 10 has finally blessed us with a start date for The Masked Singer Australia 2021, so grab the family because it is right around the corner!

It was revealed that the wacky celebrity singing contest will kick off at 7:30pm on Monday, September 13 in a brand new trailer for season three, which also put the spotlight on several new characters including a volcano, crazy scientist and a… *checks notes* a bolt of lightning?

Promising 12 celebrities “from around the globe”, Vanessa Amorosi, Meghan Trainor, Elon Musk and the Hemsworth brothers are among the names thrown out by returning judges Dave Hughes, Dannii Minogue, Jackie O Henderson and Urzila Carlson in speculation of which stars are under the masks.

“The surprises will be next level mind blowing” Hughesy confessed underneath a Masked Singer Australia Instagram post, while Dannii revealed she would be live-tweeting during the premiere.

“I dunno if I’m ready for this,” one fan commented on the latest promo clip, while others couldn’t contain their excitement for the show’s return: “So glad to have some fun back on the telly.”

Viewers are also already predicting which performers will be the first eliminated based on how many performances have been shown in the promos, with several eagle-eyed fans noting on social media that Piñata and Plunger might just be the first to get the boot! Come on guys — the season hasn’t even started yet, give the poor toilet plunger a chance!

The first trailer, which was released in August, drummed up excitement en masse for the upcoming third season of The Masked Singer, introducing fans of the show to the first few unnerving characters, including Vampire, Kebab, Atlantis and a terrifying giant Baby.

“For the last time, my name’s not Baby, baby,” the character (lowkey threateningly) tells a bartender at the beginning of the promo before the characters begin to perform the Ting Tings’ hit song That’s Not My Name.

The Masked Singer Australia has been a ratings juggernaut since its inaugural season in 2019, with families across the country going wild for the unorthodox singing competition that has produced past winners Cody Simpson as Robot and Bonnie Anderson as Bushranger.

The Masked Singer Australia 2021 competition kicks off at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play on Monday, September 13.
