Like many of the Blockheads, Tanya and Vito Guccione have been long-time fans of the hit renovation show and couldn’t believe their luck when they made the cast for The Block’s 2021 Hampton season.
“The Block is something we have watched for years so it’s just amazing to be on it. We can’t believe this is happening to us,” Tanya told 9Now.
Known to their friends and family as the “Gucci Gang”, this Melbourne couple have big wacky and wonderful personalities that are sure to liven up the construction site as they tackle their fourth build together, having built three of their own homes previously.
Tanya is a well-known makeup artist while Vito works in window furnishings, so their professions will certainly be assets to the creative design process that so many teams seem to get hung up on when facing The Block for the first time.
As parents to Ava, 12, and Josiah, 8, Tanya and Vito are aiming to “set the best example for [their] kids” while they renovate House 3 in Bronte Court.
“Mum and dad doing their best when dealing with the highs and lows. We always make sure that we work together as a team,” Vito said. “When we do, we can do anything.”
The Gucci Gang are just one of three new teams to The Block, and are joined by country couple Kirsty and Jesse, as well as 27-year-old twins Josh and Luke. They will all face off against past contestants Ronnie and Georgia and Mitch and Mark, which will undoubtedly make for some fierce competition across the season.
You can catch Tanya and Vito battle it out on The Block on Sunday nights at 7pm, as well as on Monday through Wednesday at 7:30 on Channel 9 and 9Now.
