Mitch Edwards and Mark McKie are the glamorous grandads who took The Block’s 2019 Oslo season by storm and they’re back to take another swing at the win on this year’s ‘Fans VS Favourites’ series.

Mitch and Mark are The Block’s oldest contestants ever at 58 and 59-years-old, respectively, but that has not, and will not, stop this couple from giving the renovation show their all.

During their first season of The Block, Mitch and Mark were known for their flamboyant twist on Mid-Century Modern design, and left the show in fifth place, but not without $384,000 in profits.  Despite having ‘flipped’ multiple properties over the course of their 16-year relationship, their Block experience encouraged them to hone their skills well after the series finished, now as entrepreneurs in the design industry.

“I think to come out of The Oslo and achieve what we did made us realise we can do anything,” Mark told 9Now ahead of their second Block appearance.

Having been together for 16 years, this couple aren’t afraid to speak their minds, which is a must-have attitude when it comes to facing off against fiery competitors Ronnie and Georgia Caceres, this season’s second ‘Faves’ team.

They will also be going head to head with three brand-new teams — twin brother Luke and Josh (who also starred on Love Island 2019), country sweethearts Kirsty and Jesse, and whacky parents Tanya and Vito.

The Block is airing on Sunday nights at 7pm, as well as on Monday through Wednesday at 7:30 on Channel 9 and 9Now.
