Bachie fans, hold onto your hats because we’ve got some bad news. So Dramatic! with Megan Pustetto recently revealed that Channel Ten were looking at purchasing an overseas reality TV dating show to replace The Bachelor Australia after this season was a massive flop.

Since this announcement, Warner Bros (the production company behind the hit series) have not advertised the next season of The Bachelor like they have done in the past. Usually Network  Ten promotes casting towards the end of the season and so far there’s been radio silence.

Instead, Warner Bros, have put out a casting call on their website that reads:

“Seeking diverse couples for a unique opportunity to receive therapy from one of Australia’s most highly renowned couples’ therapists’,” before adding that a “brand new, thought-provoking documentary that follows couples and their genuine struggles” was in the works.

“Far from reality-show caricature, it will follow four or five couples as they open up about their marital woes and get professional help.”

After some investigation, it seems that we’ll be getting the US show, Couples Therapy, as it is exactly the same synopsis as the call-out.

Could this popular US reality show replace the Bachelor? So far all signs point to YES! The US series has featured ex-Bachelor contestants in previous seasons, so maybe they are going to do the same here in a last-ditch attempt to save the franchise!?
