The Voice Australia kicks off tonight for it’s 11th season, and promises to wow us like we’ve never been wowed before!

Guy Sebastian was the only coach to make the jump across networks after the famed singing competition moved from Channel Nine to Channel Seven in 2020, and last year was joined on the spinning chairs by Australian Idol runner-up Jessica Mauboy, Aussie country music singer Keith Urban and UK singer-songwriter Rita Ora.

Rita is the show’s only international judge and brings with her experience in coaching The Voice UK and has been on the judging panel of The X Factor UK.

Rita got her first big break in music when she featured on Craig David’s song Awkward in 2007, and then went on to sign a record deal in 2009 with Roc Nation, Jay Z’s entertainment agency.

Her debut album Ora skyrocketed to number one in the UK in 2012, and as a result, Rita received nominations for Best New Artist, Best Push Artist and Best UK/Ireland Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

Before the release of her second album, Rita filed a lawsuit against Roc Nation requesting release from the label and cited that her relationship with the agency was “irrevocably damaged” due to only allowing the singer to release one album, despite multiple additional records being ready for public consumption.

Since then, the star released her second album Phoenix in 2018 after being signed by Atlantic Records in 2016, with plans to release a third record in the near future.

Earlier this year Rita announced that she had signed a new deal with BMC, under which she would have ownership of all future masters.

Rita Ora Is Not Just a Songstress

Though she might be a powerhouse behind the microphone, Rita has also had a handful of acting roles.

Notably, she had a key role in the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy where she played Christian Grey’s sister Mia.

More recently, Aussie’s may know Rita for making headlines after it was revealed she has been dating award-winning Kiwi director and writer Taika Waititi since March 2021.

We are so stoked Rita ora is back to judge The Voice again in 2022!
